Reid Shafer, Director of Maintenance

Reid Shafer joined Helinet Aviation's in-house maintenance team in June 2005 as Director of Maintenance. In this capacity, Reid is responsible for the oversight, maintenance and field support of Helinet Aviation's fleet.

Reid comes to Helinet Aviation with over 30 years of experience in the helicopter maintenance field, both as a director/supervisor and a mechanic. He's worked in the hangar and in the field, and performed all aspects of helicopter maintenance, including acquisition of parts, maintenance planning, scheduled inspections and more.

Prior to joining Helinet Aviation, Reid worked as a Supervisory Mechanic for the City of Los Angeles' Helicopter Maintenance division for 18 years. There, he supervised 15 mechanics and performed inspections, component overhauls and sheet metal repairs as needed.

In addition to working for aircraft companies primarily in California and Alaska, Reid also maintained the corporate aircraft of Smart and Final Iris Corporation for 12 years. Reid is factory trained on a variety of aircraft, including a number of Bell helicopter models.
